Having lived in the beautiful Kent village of Yalding, for 25 years the time has come to make some changes in my life.
The last 25 years has been spent looking after my family, the family home and setting up and running Kara Jewellery but now my three, wonderful children are all grown up and are living their exciting, independent lives and it's time for my husband and I to think about our next chapter.
It is heartwrenching as we love our home but it is too big. Many of you have visited and the 5 acres are a luxury and it's time to pass it on so another family to enjoy it.
The thought of where to move to was difficult as we would like to be close to our children but they aren't settled and the draw of living back in London for a few years with everything on our doorstep has meant we are moving back.
Years ago we bought a property in Abbey Wood because of the Elizabeth Line and so we are going to be moving there which is why I'm have to take a break from Kara Jewellery until we've moved. As you can imagine I've a lot of sorting out to do - it's amazing how much you collect over one's life! Living in London will be completely different as I'm a country girl and love my trees and nature but there is Lesnes Abbey and woods right on our doorstep so I'll be spending much of my time in there.
We will be doing some renovations on the house and then I can build a studio in the garden and start making again.
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported me over the last 10 years and I definitely will be back with lots new designs once we are settles.
